As one of the event sponsors, Lallemand Health Solutions is glad to announce that ‘Running for Research’ event raised $125,000 USD to fund an upcoming microbiome study.

“2021 Running for Research has been more successful this year than ever before, with 51 teams working together to raise over $125,000 USD! This money will be used to begin a study of the gut microbiome of persons with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), led by Dr. Jennifer Miller and the Prader-Willi Syndrome Research Fund at the University of Florida.”, confirms Rikka Bos, Director of Development and Communications for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (USA).

“Each and single team did such an amazing job! In a time where plans were constantly changing, ‘Running for Research’ was no exception. We commend our teams for their flexibility in having the Disney races switching to virtual, our alternative Gainesville race going virtual, and ultimately all races being virtual. We are so proud of all the work our teams did in fundraising and running their races. We had racers of all ages and completing a wide variety of distances. We can’t thank everyone enough, and are also extremely grateful to our sponsors, for their support of ‘Running for Research.’” Expressed Dr. Jennifer Miller, a lead researcher at the University of Florida and PWS care specialist.
