Having IMPACTT 2024: The Rosell® Institute for Microbiome and Probiotics Renews Platinum Sponsorship
The Rosell® Institute for Microbiome and Probiotics by Lallemand is pleased to announce the renewal of its platinum sponsorship for the Canadian microbiome symposium, Having IMPACTT. This marks the fourth consecutive year of their support.
The upcoming event, Having IMPACTT 4: Advancing Microbiome Research, will be held from June 3 to 5, 2024, at the Malcolm Hotel in Canmore, Canada. Renowned scientists from across Canada and around the world will convene to explore the latest developments in microbiome research. The symposium is organized by the Integrated Microbiome Platforms for Advancing Causation Testing and Translation (IMPACTT) and the International Microbiome Centre (IMC), both affiliated with the University of Calgary. The program promises to engage researchers, clinicians, and trainees alike.
Dr. Kathy McCoy, IMPACTT Director, Scientific Director of the IMC, and Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Calgary, emphasizes the significance of this gathering: “Our understanding of the microbiome’s role in health and disease continues to evolve, yet many questions remain unanswered. The 2024 Having IMPACTT Symposium will delve into these questions from a functional and translational perspective. We eagerly anticipate discussions on topics such as the microbiome’s influence on brain function and behavior, its role in cancer progression and therapy, and its impact during early life. As always, we aim to foster collaboration among leading minds in microbiome research while also amplifying new voices.”
Stéphane Bronner, Research Director at the Rosell® Institute, echoes this sentiment: “This event aligns perfectly with our commitment to microbiome research and development. We are proud to sponsor this initiative, which fosters innovative science and facilitates the exchange of ideas within the Canadian scientific community.”
IMPACTT, the multi-disciplinary microbiome research core, is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Its mission is to build Canada’s microbiome research community and strengthen the country’s position as an international leader in this field. IMPACTT provides support, expertise, training, and leadership to microbiome researchers across Canada and around the world. What sets IMPACTT apart is its focus on causation testing and translational research. With access to cross-disciplinary teams and world-class research facilities, IMPACTT contributes significantly to advancing microbiome research globally. Ultimately, IMPACTT aims to harness the power of our microbes to identify novel therapeutic and preventative approaches, promoting human health while fostering connections among basic, translational, and clinical microbiome researchers.
